3 Reasons to Run a School Supply Drive – Elim Style (Christian views on disability)

Maybe you’ve heard of Elim’s school supply drive – maybe you haven’t. But either way, I’m hoping you’ll run one in your church, school, or business this summer. Here’s 3 reasons why you should:

  1. It’s easy, fun, and a double-blessing. When you sign-up at Elim’s website, you will get very clear step-by-step instructions that not only make hosting a supply drive easy, but fun too. Everyone will enjoy shopping with their Elim HOPE Packs sport pack and school supply checklist. They’ll bring them back to your location at the appointed time, and Elim adults will pick them all up, repackage them as efficiently as possible, and send them to one of several countries, or perhaps even to a location of your choosing. And throughout it all, each step is helping two people, one of Elim’s adults and a child in need. If you don’t believe me, then just listen to what a nearby church had to say:

This was one of the easiest supply drives I have ever participated in, and I really appreciated that it helped both a local cause and a global one.

  2. It helps children in need. We cannot over-stress the impact of your gifts. School packs have opened doors for our ministry partners to share the gospel. They have been a part of rebuilding completely devastated communities, and they have brought communities together for celebration. Most of all, these supplies are a sign of hope. No longer will a poor family have to keep their children home from school, having made the decision to buy food instead of school supplies. Through your help, they will be able to equip their children with a hopeful future. You can see how Steve Hamtsra feels about this by clicking to watch this video.
  3. It equips people like John. John is one of Elim’s adults and he’s eager to serve God. He is not only willing and ready to do so, but he was created to do so. Jesus tells us in John 9:1-3 that these things happen that “God’s work might be displayed” in our lives. I am utterly convinced and humbled by how God does just that in the lives of Elim’s adults when they are engaged in Elim HOPE Packs assembly. Not only do they put together school packs, hygiene packs, and food packs, but they jump at every chance to use their gifts to bless others. When you run a supply drive, you equip Elim’s adults to be a blesing to others. Watch this video to see how (and to be blessed yourself).

I hope that your church runs a school supply drive of some kind this summer, but if you want to make that drive fun, easy, and double your impact, you need to contact Elim HOPE Packs by clicking here or by calling (708)- 293-3630 and speaking with Jenna Hania.
